Running Start is a great way to finish high school and start college early, but life as a young community college student can be lonely. The Steller Society is for Running Start students (and homeschoolers in 11th or 12th grade) who want to find community and challenge themselves intellectually.
Sections of the Society meet one day per week in the evening (either Mondays 5-6:30 p.m. or Wednesdays 4-5:30 p.m.) to discuss great books and draw. The number of participants in each section is capped at twelve. If we’re patient and attentive, we might start to discover what it means to be human.
Society meetings begin in January 2027 and run through May. Tuition is $150/month (January-May), plus a one-time registration and materials fee of $150. We meet in downtown Fairhaven: 1106 Harris Ave., Suite 307.

Why is it called the Steller Society?

Meet the Instructor:
Welcome to the Steller Society! My name is Donald Antenen. I live in Bellingham with my wife, two daughters, and thousands of books. I was graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in classical languages and literature (Greek, Biblical Hebrew, & Latin) and from St. John’s College in Annapolis with an M.A. in the liberal arts. My wife and I homeschool our daughters, and I teach Sunday school at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church. Besides reading and teaching, I enjoy vegetable gardening, time in the woods and on the beach, lifting weights, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
