What our parents and students say:
“It’s been incredible to see how much confidence my son has gained without the constant distractions of technology. The small student body fosters a strong sense of community and teamwork. If you’re looking for a program where motivated students can dive into real learning without the noise of social media, pop culture, or politics, I can’t recommend the Fairhaven Program enough.” – Renee Bergeron
“I’m sad I have to graduate next year.” – Izayla Hauptman

Our part-time high school program meets two days per week (Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Students gather with their friends in downtown Fairhaven to learn Ancient Greek, study great books and paintings, draw, solve math problems, and practice the art of conversation. We write papers by hand. We draw by hand. We read real books. We speak to each other face to face.
Our goals are to understand the world and ourselves and to cultivate the habits of attention and virtue necessary for a good life.

Meet the Founder:

Welcome to the Fairhaven Program! My name is Donald Antenen. I live in Bellingham with my wife, two daughters, and thousands of books. I was graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in classical languages and literature (Greek, Biblical Hebrew, & Latin) and from St. John’s College in Annapolis with an M.A. in liberal arts. My wife and I homeschool our daughters, and I teach Sunday school at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church. Besides reading and teaching, I enjoy vegetable gardening, time in the woods and on the beach, lifting weights, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
