Our Main Program consists two full days per week of seminar-style instruction in writing, speaking, mathematics, Ancient Greek, and local history, art, and science. We meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in our location in downtown Fairhaven. In all of our time together, we eschew screens.
Explore how we learn:
- Our curriculum of living books, from Homer and Plato to Wendell Berry and Annie Dillard.
- Science and art instruction rooted in the peoples, plants, and animals of the Pacific Northwest.
- Our approach to mathematics, which is focused on the beauty and creativity of problem-solving.
- An introduction to Ancient Greek that allows students to encounter the classics directly and teaches them how to learn languages.
- Experience leading and participating in discussions with the Touchstones Discussion Project.
- Writing persuasive, elegant prose by hand.
- Independent projects.
