In addition to the Main Program we offer two individual after-school classes. On Mondays we focus a long work for a whole semester, like Dostoevsky’s Brothers Karamazov, Melville’s Moby-Dick, or Dante’s Divine Comedy. Students experience the power of sustained attention to a single writer in a college-level seminar.
On Wednesdays we read a range of prose and poetry, ancient and modern, to explore the themes of war, slavery, and the meaning of home. Students discover living books and learn the habits and deportment conducive to the life of the mind.
Our After-School Classes are designed for students who want to read and discuss serious books and meet intellectually-inclined peers. Students are welcome to enroll in one or both classes. Classes meet from 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. on their respective days in our wheelchair accessible location in downtown Fairhaven, 1106 Harris Ave., Suite 307.
